Omi in East Lansing

Very disappointing. My order was incorrect and I called to tell them so. They hung up on me and I called back immediately and they refused to do anything about it without me bringing my food all the way back to them. Why would you need to take the food back? Do you not trust your customers words? You think someone would be cheap enough to ask for a refund for an order that costs $10. Terrible service. Terrible food. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU WANT RESPECTFUL SERVICE.

change of ownership.. not as good as it use to be. This place used to be my go-to for sushi, but I have to start finding a new sushi place I like

Omi doesn't always have the freshest sushi, but for decór and atmosphere you really can't go wrong. This place open around 2004, and at the time it was mind-blowing; there was really nothing else like it by way of dining experience in the Lansing area. Since then, other chic places have opened up and Omi has not updated its design, yet Omi can still compete with the best of them for food and style.If you want the freshest sushi possible, there are better places to go, but Omi has delicious rolls, appetizers, noodles, and entrees like tonkatsu. This is a great place for a date with friends if you want something a little fancy that doesn't break the bank. I'd stay away from the sashimi, though...I've been disappointed too many times!

Ordered the gyoza rolls (excellent) and tonkatsu ramen (also excellent). Service was great. For those that care, ramen had pork, meatballs, fishcake, bok choy, mushrooms,egg, and bean sprouts.

It was just ok. Service was friendly, prices good, but food was not that great.

Decent Japanese restaurant. Well decorated. Great staff!

Omi, you are my one true love.

Sushi used to be great and then they changed things and it’s not what it used to be. Spicy sauce takes like mayo, salmon is not good, and they close before their hours are advertised. Staff is always nice. Sad to see you go.

EL local, Omi is hands down my favorite sushi place in the area. It’s a bit pricey but the ingredients always tastes fresh and I’m never disappointed. Super friendly service. I would highly recommend Omi for anyone who’s not an idiot!

This place was awesome....I recommend everyone drop by and enjoy the sushi, tofu steak, the dragon roll, angry birds rolls, Nigiri has Wasabi on it for a fyi (for non Wasabi lovers)

specialty rolls are really good and their basic rolls are super cheap! also have vegetarian and gluten free options labeled so i can bring my gf! love these guys

Pick 2 for $10 or Pick 3 for $13 from the lunch menu is a great value and the sushi is good. :)

Excellent service. Small sushi/ramen shop, with probably about 30 seats inside. We loved all of our apps and entrees. The staff was friendly and so helpful, even when my three young kids couldn't figure out what they wanted. We loved everything and would go back again.

Best sushi for the money. As all sushi bars very Americanised, but kept fresh and grounded by lots of MSUs Asian student population.

Their sushi is one of the best sushi in East Lansing area. I really enjoyed their food. I ordered a pickup and I was amazed how well they had packed the sushi.

Beautiful food, fast service, and a good place to go for any occasion.

Service was wonderful. Setting is nice, although loud when many people are present. Food is not very good. Ginger salad is just iceberg lettuce with dressing. Out of the 6 items ordered, one was good. The others were at best mediocre.

Excellent rolls artistically plated. Ordered two and was stuffed.

So we came here and told our server we would have a larger group. She then seated us an didn’t even ask us what we might want to drink until 10 minutes later. The restaurant was empty so there was no excuse. It just went downhill from there. She was going out to smoke every 10 minutes and not washing her hands when she came back. My partner could smell the cigarettes on his glass everytime she would refill his water. When she brought us our drinks we ordered an appetizer and she didn’t bring it out until 30 minutes later and it was cold when it wasn’t supposed to be. When our friends join us at the restaurant she didn’t even bring waters to them until an hour into us being there as a group. She told our friend she would bring him a sweet red wine and she brought him Pinot Noir which is the complete opposite of what he asked for. The food was pretty good but overpriced and the service was absolutely awful. Probably won’t be coming here again.

This place has amazing service and Sushi. Wife got a salmon Bento box that she just loved. And I got the Viper Roll, the Crunchy Las Vegas, and the Omi Maki.I don't want to eat anywhere else now.

Sub Par sushi and very rude and incompetent customer service. like just straight up very rude and apathetic. Go to Ai fusion or Maru for better sushi and service. Plus Ai fusions prices are around the same as omi.

The best place for sushi in downtown East Lansing!

Outstanding fresh food. Sushi, soup, and vegetable dishes were well prepared. Spicy salmon and the dragon rolls are my favorite. Wife and the kids really like the California rolls. Miso and ramon soups are very tasty. Today we also got the hibachi chicken and the hibachi shrimp. Vegetables were perfectly done and the chicken and shrimp were well seasoned.

Some of the best sushi i have eaten

I don't even care to ever write reviews on places I've eaten at but this was particularly ridiculous. I spent $50 for 5 rolls, so after I drove there and picked it up I got back home to eat it. I noticed that I was short about a roll and a half. When I called to tell them this and receive something in compensation I was told that they put everything in the bag and that the rolls were just smaller than usual. On top of being shorted and not getting an entire meal for that much money, the sushi itself wasn't even good. Almost any other place in EL will serve you higher quality sushi than this place...Would not recommend

The Uni is to die for. I've traveled from coast to coast, and for being in Michigan, Omi knows what's going on. They always have fresh ingredients, and their house salad dressing is my favourite. The service is sometimes slow, but that happens in a busy establishment!

Great food, friendly service and a good atmosphere

Always delicious. Give 4 stars because soup and salad are extras. Most other Japanese restaurant those two are free.

Great food cool location

This place is weird. Not a bad weird, per se but the atmosphere feels off. Food was good but not iconic, the sushi is sushi alright, but that's where it stops.

Tried Omi with my son while we were attending his new student orientation at MSU this summer. The food was very good. I especially liked the hand rolls. The service was fine. Looking forward to heading back next time I'm in town.

I went in yesterday and I feel bad but I don’t remember the waitresses name anyways, she was awesome and so helpful with the menu, answered our questions and helped me modify some things because I am so picky. The presentation was beautiful! Shout out to the chefs! And everything tasted amazing. Brought my friend out for the first time and now she is obsessed!

A delightful change of pace. The food is very good and service is very good in an intimate, quiet setting in East Lansing.

This place offers a good variety of sushi at a decent price. The restaurant is decorated uniquely and it works. #vegetarianfriendly The staff aren't the most attentive though.

This restaurant is great. Service is fantastic and food is even better. I've been coming here for years and have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommend their spicy salmon roll and spinach sesame roll.

A little small on the inside but very cool and absolutely delicious sushi. I recommend any of the salmon rolls! Service was also wonderful!
